Greenland Ruby Commission
Thomas McPhee has carved the first ever Greenland Ruby. The Kitaa Ruby, weighing 302 carats, is the largest recorded ruby ever found in the Northwestern hemisphere. The carving depicts the Norse heritage and Inuit traditions of Greenland. True North Gems had valued the Kitaa Ruby at $500,000 ($CAN). Canadian Silver Coin Commission
The artwork of Thomas McPhee will be featured on the Canadian Salt Spring Island fifty dollar silver coin. The coin can be seen at the Salt Spring Island website
